I've had a cold this weekend and been taking cold medicine which has been making me loopy. I ended up sleeping for about three hours this evening, so of course I don't really want to go to sleep now when I should be sleeping. Nah, why would I do that? Instead I am online looking at Kathy Van Zeeland purses and wallets on eBay even though I do not really need to buy either a new purse or a wallet. I have found one that I really love but I just don't think I can justify buying it. :-( Is pretty to look at though!

Another Saturday evening.

I got to go to Spring Institute this week. SI is a three day convention for Children & Teen Librarians. I even got to do a presentation! I was psyched. The presentation came up at the last minute but I think I did pretty well. I just need to figure a way to continue to be active with the whole SI thing because it is really great to get to know librarians from all over the state. Now I am chilling and watching The Graduate after talking to a classmate on the phone.

So, I feel kind of bad and am not sure what to do about it.

I am going to school online. I am the leader of our learning team and I spent the majority of today working on our essay that was due tonight and my essay that is due tomorrow. I was online for over 10.5 hours in my classroom while I worked. One of the teammates said she would post her portion of our paper (due today) later in the day. By about 8 pm my teammates and I could not wait so I wrote her part for her and turned the paper in around 10 (with a warning in the team forum that I was going to turn the paper in and about half an hour for someone to post against it). After 10 hours of work I had some light beer, but it was still beer. I saw a post from the other teammate that she would post later this evening. I checked shortly before midnight and she still had not posted.

By that time I had a few of the light beers and I did not think I should be working on a school project anymore. So, she is not on our assignment that we turned in, meaning she probably will not get credit for the project. I don't think it is fair to have carried her along without her doing any work, but I also feel that this might make working within the team a bit harder in the next couple of weeks.

I can't really change anything now. I am still beerish and the time that the assignment is due is 2 am EST. I can't change what I did and I don't think I should because I might make mistakes. I just worry about having done the right thing.

Yes a fun subject heading cause I am not good with the subjects.

I should be working on my paper where I must "Analyze HR System,” for the virtual organization called "Riordan Manufacturing" including "3-4 references, in addition to the required readings, that are relevant to the assignment". But I am going to take a little mind break before I become what we call "psychotic". The text book that I am reading from is starting to read like pudding. That's what it feels like I am doing right now. So, goofing off is required!

JD had his first fresh grown nip of the season...and then proceeded to try to eat my fingers that had plucked that bit of nip. Luckily he was going for digits and not brAIns! or else I may fear that my lil kitty was a zombie...cute and furry but still zombie.

Work is going well. We tried having a fund raising tournament yesterday but that didn't work out. The bake sale we held though was a big success, so yay for that!

I tried on a hat the other day that I want to purchase, now I just have to make my way back to a Spencer's store since the one in our mall closed at one point in the past. I was at the Spencer's store in the K-zoo mall where I tried on the hat because I got my tattoo worked on some more! I shall hopefully post pictures soon of both the tattoo and the hat.

So, a "friend" essentially gave me the plague that I've been sick with for three days now. On the first day I had a fever that peaked at 102.5, now on day three I am hacking up brown goop. Yuck. You'd think this "friend", who is well aware that I am sick, might just drop me a line to say "hey hope you are still alive" or when he sees me on gmail might send me a gmail IM saying "hi!" or anything...but nope. I don't think I'd be so mad about this if he hadn't insisted on seeing me when he knew he was sick with an illness he knew I was very likely to catch, and exposing me repeatedly to said illness.

AGGGH!

I am currently so blindingly pissed at my learning team that it isn't even funny. I actually cried. There is one guy who can't even write in proper English. I had to take his portion of our project over to my mother and haver her help me decipher it. It took us two hours to figure out three pages. This guy is also doing our Power Point project cause our other teammate said he was "so great". Well, he doesn't seem to know how to do anything except make Power Point presentations look fancy and fill each slide with words that he doesn't seem to be reading as he cuts and pastes them into the slide.

Two of my teammates haven't even turned in second drafts. One, when I suggested we try to make sure our grammar is correct told me how he isn't very good at that stuff so I should feel free to edit however I wanted. How lazy can you be? Then I made the mistake of asking if the person doing the Power Point was going to put the speaker notes in or if I should, and he told me to go ahead and do it.

FUCK

Watching My So-Called Life and getting all weepy, cause that is how I roll or something like that. It may be the alcohol. It is just one of those 1- realizing the actress who is playing Angela and was my age then is also my age now, and she is now almost 30 and 2- realizing that things now are the same but also so different. Plus then there is the whole "We had a time" bit.

Maybe this is why I work well with teens. I was not a popular teen, not even by a LONG shot, but I never totally stopped being one. Maybe that is why my hair is now Valentine's colors LOL.

Ok, being weepy, drunkish, and watching my show, so now I shall go back to that and not post anymore maudlin postings! LOL

So, my laptop appears to have a dying hard drive. It would not start tonight and it wanted the Windows disk that I did not have. Then the hard drive started chirpping when we started it up. Best Buy had it now.

I also managed to sprain my ankle slightly and that hurts. But, only one more day of work and then off for two days off for Christmas. I can not believe Christmas is almost here! It always seems to not be real until you look back on it later.

Not much else going on here. School is off for awhile so I have time for my laptop to get fixed. If I do not see you all before Christmas then I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Ohh learning more about posting from the iPod!

Yesterday we had the Christmas openhouse @ the library. It went crazy good; we had 70 people attend! We have stuff left over that we can use at craft afternoons during the Christmas break so yay!

I also found out that I could have gotten some national coverage, in the library world, about my hair dye aspect of last summer's reading program. School Library Journal was looking for pictures of smiling librarians for a cover and I sent in one of my pix taken after I dyed my hair the orange and blue and told them why the hair was those colors and the guy asked why I did not submit anything to the journal cause they would have run it in Aug. So, that means I will have to do this again next summer!

Other than that not much else us happening. I am working on school still and doing work. That is my life, so far :).

So I went out with friends tonight which was very fun. We went to a local brew pub and then in the words of my friend's mom a " dive" which turned out to be pretty cool. A good time was had by all.
